Ella's First Trip to the Coast

We drove up to Port Aransas for Ella's first trip to the beach! With the baby, the dogs and all of our stuff we had a very full car. Ella did great and slept almost the whole way! We stopped in Bayside (about 3.5 hours from Austin) so she could have a snack and a diaper change. The motion of the car puts her to sleep, so as long as we're moving she's a happy camper!

The beach was really nice, not too windy and in the 80s.

We took Ella out to eat with my parents at Shells. They don't have high chairs, so she hung out in the Maya wrap while we ate.

We also took her to the Rockport Wine festival. I was a little worried about taking her to a wine festival... but there were lots of parents with kids there, she even got to meet another Ella!

Two Months!

Mother's Day

My first mother's day!! Chad was sweet and gave me flowers, a card and a gift from Ella when I woke up. Then we went to my parent's house to celebrate at the pool with my mom, dad and Chad's cousin Amanda, her husband Brad and their baby Raena.

Visit from Auntie Noelle

Chad's sister Noelle came to visit, and it was so nice to see her!

While she was here we went down to South Congress for lunch and then out to Weather Up for drinks. I was a little nervous, it was our first time taking Ella on an outing, but she did great! She mostly slept, and enjoyed being strolled and carried around. 

 

Noelle's bf Darryl's grandmother knitted Ella the most adorable baby sweater I have ever seen! I can't wait til she grows into it.

First few weeks

We have been taking pictures nonstop - total baby paparazzi! Here are a few of my favorites from Ella's first weeks.

Heading home

Ella had jaundice when she was born so we stayed in the hospital for almost a week. They wrapped her up in glowing bili-pads to help breakdown the excess bilirubin in her system (which causes the yellow tint). We were so ready to go home by the time they released us!

Welcome Baby Ella!

Ella was born at 2:13 pm on March 20, 2013. She weighed 5 lb. 8 oz. and was 19 inches long. 

So tiny and beautiful!

These first pictures still make me tear up, so happy to have our baby girl!
